Strategic Communications focuses on proactive media outreach, strategic marketing and communications, events management, e-commerce, trade show and business development services.  Its principal, Mike McQuaid has over 15 years experience in public relations, sales and business development in the e-commerce, retail, finance, legal, non-profit, media / entertainment, outdoors and athletics industries. A former national public relations director for the Public Relations Student Society of America, Mr. McQuaid has worked in various business capacities with CBS affiliate KIRO Broadcasting in Seattle, Prudential Securities, Business Wire where he helped develop a news distribution program for the World Trade Organization Seattle meetings, and Amazon.com where he was a team member of its A9.com search subsidiary.  He is an 11-year veteran of the Auction of Washington Wines – one of the top charity wine auctions in America, raising over $1.9 million annually for uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center and has planned and managed events involving Governors of the State of Washington and other high profile personalities.    Mr. McQuaid’s athletics experience includes work on the game-day sports information staffs at Washington State University and the University of Washington.  He has worked with winter and summer sports athletes competing in the Olympic Games, World Championships, Pan American Games, Goodwill Games, U.S. Olympic Trials, U.S. World Championships Trials, U.S. and Canadian National Championships, NCAA Final Four and the National Football League.    Mr. McQuaid contributes his time to the Auction of Washington Wines, and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.   Mr. McQuaid studied at the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.  As a competitive rower, he was named to the All Pac-10 Rowing Team while at WSU and won a National Championship for Philadelphia's Vesper Boat Club.  Affiliations World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame - Advisory Board Capital City Communicators
